Achieve radiant skin

BBL Photofacials

Don’t be camera shy

Achieve radiant, younger-looking skin with BBL™ Photofacials at Refine Dermatique. Broad Band Light Photofacials are non-invasive treatments that improve the appearance of discoloration and hyperpigmentation such as redness associated with rosacea and pigmentation caused by sun damage.

BBL photofacials have been scientifically proven by a 2012 Stanford University study to promote a younger-looking appearance by changing the skin’s cells. The BBL wavelengths have shown to alter the skin’s genes and change the make up of the skin. This genetic alteration of the skin cells creates overall more youthful looking skin.

Photofacials near St. Cloud can treat discoloration for clearer skin and a more even skin tone on the face, neck, hands, and décolletage. Photofacials require no downtime, so clients can return to their everyday activities after their treatment session. This is one of Dr. LaBine’s favorite treatments to slow down the photo aging process of the skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient and your clinician will personalize a treatment plan based on your needs and desired outcome.

What will happen during the procedure?

The procedure is typically gentle and safe. Generally, there is no need for a topical anesthetic. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses and ultrasound gel will be applied to your face. You may briefly feel a warm or “rubber band snap” sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure may take as little as a few minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of procedure performed. Your clinician will discuss all of your options with you including the benefits, risks, and what to expect.

What should I expect after the treatment?

You may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. Consult your clinician if it does not. For some spots, you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Results depend on your skin type, the number of treatments, and the area treated.

How long will it take to recover and what aftercare procedure should I follow?

This is a non-invasive and typically gentle procedure with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you are able to return to work, and resume most of your activities immediately. Your clinician will provide you with more information on what to expect as well as give you an aftercare plan to follow that will involve avoiding direct sun exposure and using sunscreen.

Dr. LaBine recommended Broad Band Light(BBL) as a way of managing my rosacea symptoms. After just one BBL treatment, I noticed significant improvement in my skin tone. Now that I’ve completed all four treatments, my complexion is much more even and my skin feels smoother. The best part? I get compliments all of the time.
